Over 8 stone and under 40?
E Ingle :
for the Anthony Nolan Trust
Three months before her third birthday Daisy-Belle became seriously ill and the diagnosis was Leukaemia. Although the original diagnosis was optimistic, she had serious reactions to the chemotherapy treatment and spent a year in Great Ormond Street Hospital as one complication after another affected her system. After returning home she has enjoyed a long period of remission during which she has grown and become a lively youngster looking forward to her first days at school. However, in August this year the Leukaemia returned, and her parents were advised that her best chance is to find a suitable bone marrow donor. Neither her parents or her brother are matches and she is in desperate need of help.
There are many like Daisy-Belle who need bone marrow donors to come forward. Could you donate your blood stem cells and save the life of someone suffering from leukaemia or a severe immune deficiency disease? If you are between 18-40 and in good health, weigh over 8 stone (51 kilos) and willing to help any patient; or if you know someone who is, please pass on this message. The Trust is particularly anxious to recruit young men to the register.
