The CBN Young Businesswoman of the Year at Young Enterprise 2006
 As part of the Cambridgeshire Young Enterprise programme, CBN once again sponsored this year’s Young Businesswoman of the Year. CBN judges Dee Hutley and Diane Winkleby interviewed five impressive finalists and eventually gave the award to Elen Wales, Managing Director of Young Enterprise company Oodles. Elen received the CBN bowl and a cheque for £50 from Elizabeth Ingle, CBN Chairman. Oodles cleaned up at the county finals, taking Best Company, Best Marketing and Sales, Best Use of Technology and Best Trade Stand, and Elen also won the Best Entrepreneur Award, so CBN definitely picked a winner!

Scaffolding or corsetry?
 That was the question at May’s CBN event. Judith Elliott, author of Leadership Scaffolding and managing director of elconsulting Cambridge Ltd, came to explain what she meant by scaffolding, and how all organisations, large and small, can benefit from getting their corsets on. Judith is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management, and has many years of experience working with a range of organisations, from high tech, low bureaucracy to low tech, high bureaucracy.
